Description
I led the design of the Wonder Command Center, an internal operations platform used by mobile kitchen teams, dispatchers, and support staff to manage orders, logistics, and day-to-day coordination for Wonder’s chef-driven mobile kitchen service. At the time, Wonder’s unique model involved chefs preparing meals curbside in mobile kitchens parked outside customers’ homes—requiring an exceptionally responsive, real-time operations tool.
To design a system that could support this complexity, I conducted in-depth user research with internal staff across roles—from dispatchers and kitchen crew to customer support. These sessions helped me map key workflows and pain points across the end-to-end order lifecycle. I then led multiple rounds of usability testing with actual users in live and simulated environments, allowing me to iterate rapidly based on real operational feedback.
The resulting product streamlined task management, improved order visibility, and gave teams the flexibility to handle exceptions in real time. The Command Center became a critical tool in keeping Wonder’s operations running smoothly and efficiently during a high-growth phase.
